Bingo guide
Arrange 1 to 25 on a secret grid, call numbers in turn and race to shout BINGO.
How to play Bingo
- Choose Singleplayer to play against 1-5 bots, Local to pass one device around, or Online for 2-6 players.
- Everyone secretly arranges the numbers on their own grid: 1 to 25 on 5x5, 1 to 36 on 6x6 or 1 to 49 on 7x7. Tap cells to place them in order, or press Shuffle. The grid grows with the table, and online the host can pick the size.
- Press Ready to lock your grid. Any empty cells are filled at random, and the game starts when everyone is ready.
- On your turn, tap any uncalled number on your grid to call it. That number is struck on every player's grid.
- Each full row, column or diagonal counts as a line. The first to complete as many lines as the grid is wide wins: 5 lines on 5x5, 6 on 6x6, 7 on 7x7.
Rules
- A line is any complete row, column or either diagonal: 12 possible lines on 5x5, 14 on 6x6 and 16 on 7x7.
- Lines needed to win equal the grid size: 5 on 5x5, 6 on 6x6 and 7 on 7x7.
- Each number can be called only once, and players call in turn order.
- Grids stay secret until the game ends; then every grid is revealed.
- If several players reach the winning number of lines on the same call, they share the win.
Tips and strategy
- Call numbers that sit where your nearly finished lines cross. A corner or the centre can finish two lines at once.
- Every number you call also helps your opponents, so prefer numbers that finish your own lines first.
- When arranging your grid, spread numbers you plan to call early across different rows and columns.
- Watch how many lines other players have: when someone is one line away, finish your own lines fast.
Questions
How is this Bingo different from casino Bingo?
This is the classic 1 to 25 paper game: players fill their own grids and take turns calling numbers instead of using a random caller.
How many lines do I need to win Bingo?
As many as the grid is wide: 5 lines on a 5x5 grid, 6 on 6x6 and 7 on 7x7. Rows, columns and both diagonals all count.
How many players can play Bingo?
Two to six players in local or online play. In singleplayer, you face one to five bots.
